A war of words. But no winners.

If the Democrats and Republicans had spent more time and energy thinking about how to improve the economy and less time writing clever campaign speeches and t-shirt slogans, we’d all be better off. It’s small comfort to realize that whoever ends up being elected President will inherit an economic quagmire of their own making. History may judge them harshly. But today, and in the near future, it will be the U.S. taxpayers who suffer.
