Act I. Learning my craft. I spent decades working at advertising agencies, brands and start-ups on the west and east coast on accounts big and small, from Honda to Lexus, to Microsoft, to Tide and Downy, to name a few.
Act II. Becoming a change agent. I got involved with The 3 Percent Conference, first as a speaker and eventually as the Chief Creative Officer. Along the way, I started Speed Mentoring - the first of many side hustles that helped folks connect and build community.
Act III. Learning as I teach/teaching as I learn. In 2016 I was invited to be a Professional in Residence at Quinnipiac University, where I fell in love with teaching and decided to make it my final act. But I never studied advertising. So I decided to get a Master’s, enrolling in CCNY’s Branding + Integrated Communications MPS program. BIC’s program allowed me to deconstruct the industry and learn from some of the best industry pros in higher ed. For the last eight years, I’ve been leveraging what I learned from BIC and my decades of experience to help students learn the real-world lessons they need to become “business ready”.
